what should i bring to my first session?

Be sure to bring everything that could help determine your individual plan of care, including:

  • Insurance verification

  • Prescription or referral from your physician

  • List of current medications

  • Imaging (MRIs or x-rays)

  • Comfortable, loose-fitting clothing and a pair of rubber-soled sneakers.

what should i expect on my first visit?

On your first visit, you will meet your personal licensed physical therapist, who will kindly ask you about what brought you here. Be prepared to talk briefly about when you began feeling pain, how the injury happened along with your general health and past surgeries.

One of our physical therapists will fully evaluate and assess your injury, pinpointing the best plan of care for your needs. We’ll incorporate manual therapy, including soft tissue work and joint mobilization, functional mobility training, education, and exercise prescription.

After the evaluation, based on your diagnosis and your personal goals, we will create your personalized treatment plan for you. Then, we will create a home exercise program with specific exercises you can do on your own to speed the recovery process. Your physical therapist will explain each exercise and make sure you understand the proper technique.

Lastly, you will speak with a member of our administrative staff to create treatment schedule, which can easily fit into your lifestyle. For your convenience, we can schedule treatment as early as 6:00am or as late as 630pm, Saturday appointments are available by request.

how long is my treatment and how frequently should i attend?

Each session lasts for an hour, split between 30 minutes one-on-one with your physical therapist and 30 minutes of one-on-one directed exercise prescription with an exercise physiologist.

Frequency is determined by your needs following your evaluation, but typical treatment plans require 2-3 visits per week and range from 6-12 weeks, along with regular assessment and potential follow-ups with your physician.
